Job Description

This 3 day placement (11th-13th September 2025), will provide the opportunity of working with a huge array of deer and antelope species, our herd of water buffalo, and our collection of birds. We have quite a different approach to managing the animals here at Watatunga and we would love to share that with you. You will be shadowing our Reserve Manager, Reserve Rangers or all 3 of us at times! We are a small team & treat all placement students, volunteers etc. here as part of our team so you will feel right at home.

 

Duties can include but are not limited to: 
-Observing our tours
-Supporting animal rounds staff carry out rounds & additional jobs
-Moving, worming or tagging our Buffalo herd
-Observing the process of culling & being involved in processing deer carcasses
-Assisting in the catching, darting and manual handling of animals when necessary
-Wing clipping and manually restraining birds
-Driving ATVs & UTVs
