KEEP Conservation Launch!

We are very excited to annouce our first KEEP Conservation placement.
KEEP Conservation is a branch of KEEP that is built to help send experienced and knowledgable keepers out to various in situ projects across the world, to assist in direct conservation projects.

The Toucan Rescue Ranch’s (TRR) mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release Costa Rican wildlife. TRR works with a model focusing on conservation, education, and research to ensure a brighter future for Costa Rican wildlife. TRR emphasizes the care, rehabilitation, and release of national wildlife. They receive and care for confiscated, sick, and injured animals from government agencies.

TRR, have a placement for an experienced Xenarthran keeper (ideally Sloth focused), to come out for 2 weeks in December to aid in the support and rehabilitation of their rescued sloths, both adult and baby.

The applicant must have the following criteria:

1. Minimum 5 years experience as an Animal Care professional.
2. Must be currently with Xenarthra species (sloths experience being preferable)
3. Must be a registered KEEP member

This is a rare oppertunity to share your expertise, build capacity out in this species’ natural habitat, and directly contribute to widllife conservation!

The placement will take place over a 2 week period with flexible dates in december, and for the right candidate could dates could include end of November, or start of January.

TRR can offer accommodation and 3 meals a day for $210 a week.

Rabies and Tetanus vaccines are required, along with a tourist visa.
