Company Description
Nestled on London’s south bank is the perfect place for little explorers – Battersea Park Children’s Zoo! With conservation and education at its heart, this much-loved family park is home to over 100 amazing animals from around the world. From monkeys and lemurs to tropical birds and native farm breeds – there really is something to inspire everyone! As one of BIAZA’s smallest member zoos, we believe we have a unique opportunity to promote smaller species that can become overshadowed in larger collections. We work on a number of EEP’s and maintain progressive relationships with various wildlife groups to push our mission, these include reintroducing harvest mice into West London with Ealing Wildlife Group and establishing a sustainable beekeeping apiary with the London Beekeepers Association.
We are immensely proud of our conservation education programme which welcomes over 8500 school children from across London to the zoo every year on a range of curriculum-based workshops. Alongside this, our education department runs charity fundraising days, events and activities for visitors of all ages throughout the year.
BPCZ has been a part of its local community since the 1950s, evolving over the years to become the country’s only specialised children’s zoo and a hub for nature education and a great day out in the best part of London.
